Arcsoft have Windows 7 patches for all their programmes, except the latest version of DVD Slideshow.
The bad news is that if you install the programme, the next time you boot up the computer you have lost your
burner. The device manager will recognise the burner but tell you that the driver is missing or corrupted.
If you restore the computer to a previous date, you lose Slideshow but get your burner back.
The answer is to install Slideshow. Copy all the files from the default directory to another directory, make an
icon from the exe file to the desktop to run the programme
Then, use Add/Remove programmes to get rid of the originally installed Slide show and everything works fine.
It's the installation programme from Arcsoft which interferes with the registry.
The programme works just as well without using the install system.
