Hi,
I posted a message some days back, but cannot find it - I
think there may have been problems with the posting :(
In any case, I am hoping someone can help with an
archiving issue ..
I have multiple PST files in Outlook and what I try to do
is archive on a quarterly basis (ie every email after a
particular date is archived). What I consistently
encounter is the fact that multiple emails 'evade' this
date stamp - so I'm left with numerous emails that relate
to the Qtr being archived, but are not captured in the
archiving activity. I discussed this at one point with a
colleague who told me the archive doesn't 'trigger' on
the 'received date' - but date last modified (is that
true?).

Is there any workaround out of this situation, as I would
still like to archive on a quarterly basis.

Any ideas, suggestions? Thx,

Don-

Yes, it is true -- for most items, the modified date is used. (An exception
would be a task or appointment item that is set to happen in the future --
in that case, the later dates would prevail). There is no way to get around
it with the AutoArchive feature itself, but you can always open the archive
file in your Folder List and drag the items to it manually, then close the
archive file again. (I know, not pretty, but...)

You might also want to check
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/housekeeping.htm and the Slipstick website
in general for some possible 3rd party solutions.

Thanks Jocelyn! Appreciate your input .....
As a 'flood' of replies didn't exactly materialise : )), I
had figured that it was something that was a known 'thorn
in the side' so to speak ....
I think your suggestion will work fine in the interim ...
