We have Exchange 2003 and using Outlook 2003.

Just wondering if there is anyway we can set the location
of the Archive pst file through a GPO??

Have tried the Miscellaneous| PST Settings| Default
Location for PST files, and that doesn't set it. I have
trailed through the ADM file and I can't find one. Any
ideas???

Thanks in advance

Hi David,

Thank you for posting here.

If I understand correctly, you are using Office 2003 Resource Kit to
deploy Outlook. You use system policy editor to deploy autoarchive
settings to Outlook 2003 clients, and you also need set the default
archive folder path. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let
me know.

Based on my research, when setting options with the System Policy
Editor, you cannot set the default archive folder path. But you can
set a default AutoArchive path by modifying the Outlook.prf file that
is available as a download. The file is available as part of the
Microsoft Office Resource Kit at the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/

AutoArchive is not a static key and you cannot change it by creating
an updated registry key. You must change the AutoArchive through
profile generation by using the Outlook.prf file with the Modprof.exe
file or the Newprof.exe file. The following is a sample of the
changes that you must make in the Outlook.prf file:

[Service1]
;----Outlook AutoArchive------
;True=On and False=Off
DoAutoArchive=True
;specify the full path to the archive pst file
AutoArchiveFileName = "M:\temp\archive.pst"

DoAutoArchive=PT_BOOLEAN,0x0320
AutoArchiveFileName=PT_STRING8,0x0324

If anything is unclear, please feel free to let me know. I'm looking
forward to your reply.

Have a nice day.
