Where is the path for the archive.pst file location
stored? Ive searched the Registry and cannot find a
string entry for the path.
Is there a way to modify the default path with either a
REG file or in a PDF (Profile) file, or some other way?

Thanks

Wil

It is called a prf-file ;-)

The AutoArchive settings can be set by Group Policy when you load
the adm-template from the Office Resource Kit.

This however will not allow you to set the location of the Archive.pst file.
For this you'll need to create a prf file which can be done by the Custum
Installation Wizard.

When you've got the prf-file open it in a text editor (Notepad will do) and
add the following

[Service1]
DoAutoArchive=True
AutoArchiveFileName = "X:\Username\archive.pst"

;***************************************************************
; Section 6 - Mapping for profile properties
;***************************************************************
[Microsoft Outlook Client]
SectionGUID=0a0d020000000000c000000000000046
DoAutoArchive=PT_BOOLEAN,0x0320
AutoArchiveFileName=PT_STRING8,0x0324

It would help if you had stated which version of Outlook you're using.

If it happens to be Outlook XP (2002), click on Tools > Options > Other [tab] > AutoArchive [button]. You'll find the current location under "Default folder settings for archiving". You can change the location in this field.
