Hi there,

I have a mailbox from a user with problems to archive his calendar. I
suppose, it is the cause for problems with a sync with P800...
There are more then 7000 items in the calendar, so I wanted to archive
everthing older then january this year.

I try to set auto archive, manual archive, Outlook 2000, Outlook 2003 but it
does not archive anything, not any entry is deleted, only a 25kb sized PST
file is created.. LOL.
I tried diferent options to remove the items, but no chance.
After testing, reading some stuff in the internet and about one week I
haven't any more ideas. The only thin I read was that outlook only archives
items older then x days, where it is the LAST MODIFIED Date and not the
really date in the calendar. Maybe all items are change 2 days ago where I
did the last synchronize tests with the P800? I do not want to remove items
in the calendar from this year, how can I force outlook to remove the old
items?

Any help is appreciated.

The sync probably did change the modified dates. Unfortunately you can't
force Outlook to use a different date for archiving. The only thing you can
do in the meantime is open the Archive file using File | Open | Outlook Data
File, then manually move items from the user's mailbox to the Archive file
as needed. When you're done you can close the Archive file out of Outlook
by right-clicking its root folder and clicking Close.

Since the modified date fall outside of your desired parameter, I would just
display the calendar in a folder view, then sort by date and drag and drop
the files to your archive.pst file. First, open the archive.pst file in
Outlook so it is visible in the folder tree. Then follow the above
directions.

If you right click and drag, you get the option to copy or move. Just the
left click will only copy.
