I have the outlook backup utility installed in Outlook 2003, when I exit
outlook the utility fires up and asks me where I would like to backup to, I
backup to my desktop so that I can run a Nero Backup job on the backup. Can
you tell me, does the program automatically backup all personal details and
contacts to the Outlook file?
It does get a little confusing.

The Personal Folders Backup backs up the entire .pst file. For Outlook 2002
and 2003, this means all of your Outlook items as well as your rules.

Yes. It "backsup" all changes from the last time PFBackup ran. "Backup" is
a strange word, what this utility does is strictly copy (on close of
Outlook) the active PST to a second inactive (non-deliverypoint) PST
elsewhere on your computer (prefferably a second HD).
Double check this if you like, make a new profile, but point it to the PST
that is your PFBackup form the original PST, you should notice that until
you close the originating proifle, the secondary profile shows yesterdays
data/changes, and once you close original proifle, and restart your temp
checking profile, it should show all the updated/current data. The PST is
"the whole ball of wax", all folders or nothing, unlike a backup-by-export
which would only cover the folders you choose.

Thx Milly,
In Outlook my current folder is named Personal folder, in this are all of my
contacts, groups etc etc, below this folder I have an archive folder that I
archive to once a week to keep my personal folder clear when I backup It
defaults to the outlook folder and in there is a file called 'outlook'.
is everything, backed up to this file? The reason I ask is that I have 2
outlook data files in the outlook folder one is 2mb and the other is 4kb and
I also have an archive backup file that is 110 MB. Please tell me what I
should do as I am unsure what to save and what not to.
