I'm wondering how much public support there is for Arachnophilia, a
free editor. If you use Arachnophilia, wouldn't you love to be in
communication with others who have written great macros, or solved the
issues you're working with, or whom you could help?

Here's a poll for you to just put in your name (first name only is
fine) and how much you like/use the program....

http://www.cfjungle.com/arach/poll_audience.cfm
(no ads, just a simple poll)

I'd love to see how many folks use Arachnophilia. If we have a large
base of support, perhaps we can create a newsgroup or a mailing list
of some sort.

One Arachnophilia mailing list (that has had no publicity)...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/arach-webdev

Thanks folks,

JGG

Where can I find the non-java 16 BIT Version ? (before it was called
arachnophillia)

Sorry. When I began using it, it was called Arachnophilia. I don't
know what it was before that.

Yep, I keep the legacy version (4) around for normal text file editing.
It loads quickly and has some good features for that.... now that I'm
using the Java version (5.2) for my html, cfml, js, php, etc. editing.

Well...I don't know about other people but when I need support, I just
email Paul directly. He's never been shy about responding to emails, and
he seems to be pretty willing to help.

The qualifier here is that I haven't done this in a year or so...I'm not
fond of the Java version so I still use the 32-bit version.

Bubba

I have emailed him at various points during the last few years. He
usually responds that I'm out of luck... he doesn't have time to help
folks AND write programs.

Sometimes that's very frustrating for a person in my situation.... but
I understand it from his perspective.

His unavailability is really the main reason I'm checking to see if
there is an audience/need for a centralized Arachnophilia user group.
I'm sure there are folks out there who have been where I am and have
solved a problem I might be facing. Until I discovered the newsgroups
here, I had no way of contacting other Arachnophilia users. That's why
I formed the Arachnophilia Yahoo Group a year or more ago.
