Hi We have AR-M455N Multifunctional printer and it works fine on all
computers. We have one Windows XP Prof. SP2 computer with latest
patches installed and when I try to install Scanner Tool Software on
this machine it did not detect the scanner however when I ping the
Sharp Machine with IP Address it pings even I have setup network
printer on this machine and it works fine only when I install the
Scanner Option it does not detect Scanner and when I try to setup
manually adding IP address it gives me error "Unable to add scanner
192.168.1.5" and in description it says in three lines as under:

Add failed (0x82150211)
Device 192.168.1.5's configuration xml file could not be loaded as a
valid xl document
Device 192.168.1.5 is not valid according to this validator.

I have tried to install with safe mode but it does not install that
way either. I have talked with dealer from whom we have leased this
printer and they says there may be a hardwae issue with your computer
and I can't figure out what could be the problem.

I will greatly appreicate prompt response.

Could be a problem with the XML parser version.

I checked in Add-remove programs and have found that I have MSXML 4.0
SP2 and MSXML 6.0 Parsar entries.

Check one of the PCs that does not have a problem and compare versions.

I compared with other desktop and has same files and version.
Presently I am trying to install IE7 to see if that solves the
problem.

Do you think it is the problem of XML parsar?

Thanks,
Mukesh

I tried to install IE7 and it worked for little while and than it says
that cann't be installed.
Any idea? Any files are missing or OS is corrupt?

Try un-installing any and all parts of the printer/scanner software that did
install correctly or failed, so there is nothing remaining (including any
twain files, which are usually associated with scanner functions and are
typically located in their own separate folder).

If you are able to separate the software install into two steps.
Then try installing the scanner software first and the printer software
last.

Fresh out of ideas, there is something different between the PCs that work
and the one that does not, but what is the question.
