Hello
I have a sony camera and I want to get the video off it onto my computer. I
have it hooked of through the s video cable but I it won't recognise anything
there. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

use the usb cable or firewire connection. there is a cd that came with your
camcorder or you can download the driver from from sony. then use moviemaker
to play the movies from your camcorder into the software.

Is this a camcorder or camera that has the video files on it?

If it's a camcorder, is it analog or digital?

If it's digital, does it record on MiniDV or on DVD?

When you type that you hooked up via S-video:
What exactly have you connected your s-video output
of your camcorder to?
I suspect you have connected to the S-video *output*
of your graphics card? If so, then this won't work.
Please post exact details of:
PC
Connection
Inputs/Outputs/Hubs etc
