I have an APS Smart-UPS 700 that I bought from a shop used a few months ago,
but they said they just installed a new battery. About a month ago, the UPS
started clicking intermittently. It will click, the yellow light will come
on for a second, then click again, and all the lights are green again. This
will happen several times in a row, then the UPS will be OK for a couple of
days, then start clicking again. I don't have a manual for this. Is the
clicking normal, perhaps some kind of periodic self test, or is it something
to be concerned about? I know I'm not overloading it. Thanks much.

Try here for a manual:

http://www.apc.com/tools/mytools/index.cfm?action=search&category=user

The older Smart UPSs, such as the 600 I've been using for years, have an
adjustment for how sensitive they are to line voltage sags and they
recommend that if your unit is seeing too many of them that they should
be desensitized by flipping the appropriate switch(es) on the back.

That was a quick response, I'll look at the manual and for
adjustments/switches. Thanks John. BTW, as you figured out already, I meant
APC, not APS, and I did that twice cuz I copied and pasted the model number
from the subject line.

Thanks John and Bennett, with the help of the downloaded manual, and the
post suggesting there may be such a button, I found the configuration on the
back of the unit. It was completely off (no LED). I put it at the "normal"
setting about an hour ago, and so far all OK. As far as the yellow LED it
was going to, I found out was it going to battery power, then cycling back
to normal current. It says to lower the configuration setting if there's
problems, but in my case, so far, the opposite is working, it was off and I
turned it to normal.
