apps doesnt work.

my friend and i upgrade gis pc from win 98 to xp.we found out that it doesnt have a virus scan.so after installalion of xp. we put mcafee in it and scan the whole hard disk. and as i expected it is infected with a virus. some files was cleaned some are quarantined. and the PROBLEM IS SOME OF ITS APPLICATION IS NOT WORKING LIKE COREL, ADOBE ,ENCARTA AND ALL THE GAMES.WHAT CAUSES THE PROBLEM AND WHAT WSHOULD I DO TO FIX THE PROBLE

Maybe then Mcafee antivirus software delete and quarantine file infected by
virus , some files needed by your apps was deleted or quarantined too.

so ,uninstall these apps and reinstall them

if it has no effect , maybe you need to do a clean install of system and all the
apps

Viruses do various evil deeds such as attaching themselves to real system
files. The longer the virus is on the system, the more extensive the
damage. If the antivirus program cannot repair the altered files, it will
quarantine or delete them depending on your settings. Regardless, you do
not want infected files back. Instead, replace the files by reinstalling
the programs that are no longer working correctly.
