I believe this has been asked a number of time but I have never seen an
answer. Does Outlook really delete appointments that are more than one year
old or is there a switch setting that allows the user to view these older
appointments?

TIA, Eve

Outlook doesn't delete anything unless you have archiving set. Then it
will remove items that are older than the archive date. Unless the
archiving is set to only delete the items they should be available in
your archive file. Right-click on your Calendar folder and select
Properties. Go to the AutoArchive tab and if individual folder
settings aren't enabled click on the Default Archive Settings button.
If individual settings are set the file is listed in the AutoArchive
tab, if not the default settings dialog will show you where the
archive file is located.

I have the archiving of calender items turned off since I frequently wish to
look back and check events that are more than one year old. Are you saying
the items are still there? If so, how do I view them?

Thanks, Eve

If you want to go to a date more than a year old in the Calendar folder go to View->Go To->Go To-Date->and select the month and year u want to check out. Press ok and you will see your appointments on that date if you have not archived it. To come back to today, View->GoTo->GoToToday.

If you haven't deleted or archived the items they are still there
unless something odd happened. Try setting your calendar view to
Active Appointments and see if they are there then. You can do that in
the View, Current View menu.
