Appointment will not delete

I've got an appointment that I added as a test when I upgraded to Outlook
2007 that refuses to delete. I've right clicked and deleted. I've hit delete
from the inspect ribbon. I've dragged it to the deleted folder.

The deleted folder shows it multiple times.

I did receive an alert last night from Windows Live Calendar reminding me
about an appointment. To my knowledge, I've never signed up for Windows Live
Calendar and I don't want the service.

1) Is the item that refuses to delete possibly related to Outlook sync-ing
with Window Live Calendar?
2) How do I stop it?

Unless you've added a Hotmail/Live account to your Outlook profile, the alert
shouldn't be coming from Outlook.
2) How do I stop it?

What type of account are you using? How did you perform the "upgrade"?
