Using Outlook 2000 appointments are made, saved and can be seen in the active
appointment view, but start date and end date columns say "NONE". I am
presuming this is why the don't appear in any calender view.

Can someone help.

Try this:

1. Right click on the Calendar somewhere, Select "Customize
Current View..." and you should get the "View
summary" dialog box which has buttons "Fields, Group By , Sort,
Filter, Other settings" There are other ways to get to this dialog
box but I think that this is the quickest.

2. Some of the buttons might be greyed out but "Fields" should be OK.
Click on this.

3. My list of "Available date/time fields", which works OK
is "Created, End, Recurrence range end, Recurrence range start,
Start"

4.Make sure that in the "start and End Fields" area that the entries
are "Start" and "End". Do this by selecting "Start" in the list on
the left and clicking the start button. Similarly select "End" in the
list on the left then click the end button. If these are not
available you might have to chacnge the selection in the "Select
available fields from" list.

5. Click OK several times to get back to the calendar.
