Hi There
I'm not sure if the following is by design or a possible bug.
When you create an appointment in Outlook 2007 with BCM SP1 and 'link that
record' to a project in BCM, the appointment appears correctly under the
project history section. However when I have to reschedule that appointment
by dragging and dropping to another day, things go 'wrong'. The appointment
date in Outlook and in BCM reflects the change (if you open up the
appointment history item, the new date is shown) but BCM history leaves the
appointment appearing under the original day/date in the history listing.
For example:
An appointment created on 2/15/08 appears under 'Yesterday' or 'Friday' then
when I drag & drop the appointmen in Outlook 2007, to some other date in the
future, 2/18/08, the appointment still visually lists in BCM history under
'Yesterday' or 'Friday' rather than 'Next Week'. It doesn't automatically
update the visual history listing.
If you double-click the appointment in the history section it does show the
change in date as 2/18/08 but only if I rechoose the date as 2/18/08, making
it something else then repicking 2/18/08, is the appointment visually moved
to the 'Next Week' section.
In Outlook 2007 the move has happend, and in BCM the though the appointment
item date has updated the visual listing has not in the history section.
This confuses me as I'm using Project History as an all in once place to see
what is going on, has gone on, or is about to happen in the future with my
projects. Whenever I change appointment and I do alot, I would like the
items in history to visually place themselves according to their current
dates, rather than the original creation date.
My suggestion is if this behavior is by choice to change the behavior and if
this is a bug to kindly bring it to the development team's attention. I love
the product, thanks so much it is truly useful to my business.
