Applying the patch and requesting a backup first

Get the following

SP4 could not backup registry key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\ExceptionComponents

also for

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OC
Manager\Subcomponents,\'autoupdate\'

Anyone encountered difficulties applying Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
to Windows 2000 workstations? I have received the following from 2
Dell PCs.

Got error:

Service pack 4 Setup could not backup the registry key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\ExceptionComponents
to file c:\winnt\$ntservicePackUninstall$\reg000005. 5. Access is
denied.

Press Ignore get

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OCManager\Subcomponents\'autoupdate\'
to file c:\winnt\$ntservicePackUninstall$\reg000005. 5. Access is
denied.

Click ignore and installation commences and eventually get Access is
Denied message.

Click OK to undo the SP4 installation.
