I have an IBM Thinkpad A21m running on Windows 2000
Professional. I have done all the updates. I shut it
down about a week ago everything was OK. When I turned it
on today it starts to load and then a screen comes up and
says Applying security update, and the it just sits there
and the hard drive is running, after 1/2 hour I shut it
down, when I restarted it it did the same thing. Does
anyone have any suggestions?

Thank You

When starting it up select F8 to bring up start up options. Try last known good
configuration and safe mode. It that works, look in Event Viewer for any clues.
Remove any pc cards attached to it to see if that helps also. If nothing helps, you
may want to boot from W2K install cdrom an attempt recovery repair. Just follow
prompts and it will ask you if you want to do an install or repair an existing
installation. Even though you do not probably have an erd disk, you can still try
fast repair. --- Steve
