Is it possible to apply rules to multiple mailbox's in
Outlook 2000.

I use multiple mailbox's in Outlook 2000. I would like to
add a rule to the secondary mailbox's to notify me when
mail arrives. It seems that all rules only apply to the
primary mailbox. I have tried setting these rules up with
no luck. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks In Advance,
Jim

I assume you are in an Exchange environment?

In order for this to work you have to create different profiles for each of
the mailboxes so they will show up as the Outlook Today folder. Now create
the rules for the mailboxes and make sure they are "server based" rules.
This way the Exchange server can process the rules without the need for
Outlook to be open. Now when you add those mailboxes to your main profile
the rules will work for each mailbox seperately. When you need to change the
rules for one of the boxes you'll have to start Outlook with that mailbox as
the Outlook Today folder.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply.
I am in an Exchange environment.
Thuis might be a silly question but how do I make the
rule "server based"?
