Hi
We build our PCs using RIS and the last part in to run a batch file that
installs all the latest patches. This is to ensure that the PC is secure
before SMS "kicks in". Everything was working fine but recently I have
noticed that a few patches are installing without error, creating the
registry keys and the backup files but the actual file version is not being
updated (This is being detected in MBSA). I am running XP SP2 and the files
are setup in the batch file as per Microsofts instructions to install
multiple updates with only one reboot. The files are installed in order, eg.
MS05-050, MS05-051... If I install the patches manully using the same
switches it installs fine, so I assume something is wrong with the updates
installing the latest version of a DLL. Has anyone seen this before?
Many thanks
Kieron
