Applying GPO to a User

Hi All,

I have created a new GPO by clicking on the domain properties (in
Active Directory). I then modify the new GPO to disable the Help and
Run in the Start up. I then click on Properties and Security:

Domain Admins have Full Control but NOT "Apply Group Policy"
I add the user that I want to apply this policy to and add "Read" and
"Apply Group Policy" rights.

I click OK and accept the settings.

Then I try to login to a PC using that user name and the policy is not
applied. Any ideas?

Thanks

It now works. I guess I just didn't wait long enough for the GPO to
take effect. After a few minutes I logged back in and it worked.

Thanks.

Just as added information, here is the way you can force policy to apply:

Windows 2000 : Secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy /enforce
XP/Server 2003: gpupdate /force
