Hi,

Our system admistrator has enforced a policy in which
desktop settings are set to particular default, every
time, a user logs into the domain.

Settings like, Desktop-Scheme, ScreenSaver, Wallpaper etc
are all reset and I dont like the defaults.

So created a desktop.reg file with which I set the desktop
settings with what I like. This desktop.reg is executed
each time with "regedit /s c:\desktop.reg"

The settings do get SET but some of them do not get
APPLIED.
For instance, the desktop-scheme, I set to "Windows
Classic" thru desktop.reg but it does not get applied.
After logon, I have to open desktop properties change some
thing (so that APPLY button gets enabled) and then apply
the settings.

CAN THIS (each time open desktop properties and apply) BE
AUTOMATED ?

Cause I like a plain (single color) desktop wallpaper
(among other desktop settings)
The admin sets a multicolor, picturseque wallpaper which
is hurting to my eyes

Then inform your admin, he can change the profile, which would be easier
than what you are doing now.
