Applying Designs

I have a number of presentations with plain text boxes. When I apply a new
design to them, sometimes the text reverts to outline form and sometimes
not. How come, and what can I do about it. I don't want an outline format.

Thanks
Larry

Larry,

I suspect that the text that does revert to outline view text is in a
Placeholder. That is, it is in one of those boxes that says "Click here to
add text". Does that make sense or am I confused with your problem?

Glen, the original text that I have inputted is in a plain text box.
Placeholders were removed before text entry. When I apply some new
designs to my text, it reverts from plain text to outline text. Almost as
though the new design was telling it to somehow.

Larry,

Could you send me a slide, please? Be interesting to get my poor head around
it. Please remove spaces from reply address. BTW, what's your PowerPoint
version?

Hi Larry,

Folks, Larry sent me an example, BTW.

I had a look and most of the text is in Placeholders. An exception is the
very first box on the first slide. To see whether text is in a Placeholder
is easy. Select the text box and delete it. In most cases, the Placeholder
will still be there and need to be deleted again from the same position.

To get rid of these Placeholders, you can go to the Slide Layout Task Pane
and select the "Blank" layout. Then apply it to all slides.

Hope that helps.
