Applying an associated layout amongst the slide master

Hello,

When I change to a particular theme, my slides lose the title only layout
and converts to the blank only layout. However, there is a title only
associated slide layout amongst the slide master slides, which is what I want
but don't know how to apply it. I would prefer to avoid having to select all
the slides in my presentation and then apply the title only layout. Any
suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Was that "theme" created in a different version of PPT than the one you're
using?

Which version of PPT are you using?

Echo,

No! I've been using PPT 2007 for more than a year. However, I discovered
why the problem occurred. It turns out that the theme I switched from was
created with the "blank only layout," much to my surprise, which I discovered
when the slide master was engaged. Thus the theme I switched to
intermittedly revealed both the title only and blank only layout sometimes.
Other times, the new theme would reveal all slides with the blank only
layout. From now on, I will check the slide layout of an existing theme
before switching to a new one.

However, I still would like to know if there is a way to select all slides
without having to do one at a time. I'm not lazy, but would like to save
time. Moreover, I would like to better understand the slide master and
associated slide layouts. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Sure, you can select all slides in the slide thumbnail pane on the left of
Normal editing View, or you can select them in Slide Sorter View. Then on
the Home tab, choose Layout and then choose the appropriate layout.

http://office.microsoft.com has some info on masters and layouts -- and I
keep meaning to make a video about creating templates that would cover the
stuff you're asking for. I think it's back high on the priority list, so
hopefully it'll be done sooner rather than later!

Here's a litte info that might also help:
http://www.echosvoice.com/2007_tutorials.htm (the three listed under slide
masters and layouts).
