Note that Windows XP clients support Fast Logon Optimization in any domain
environment.
To turn off Fast Logon Optimization, you can use the following policy
setting:
Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ System \ Logon \
Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon
When this policy is enabled, a Windows XP client behaves in the same manner
as a Windows 2000 client at both system startup and at user logon.
"
I enabled that policy and my WinXP is still takes about 40 seconds to get an
IP address. Obviously GPO fails for that reason.
Then I run Gpresult and it states that policy has been applied. I execute
Resultant of Group Policies on local machine and "Computer Policies" appear
as "red cross". User Policies are applied OK and I can visualize then.
What am I missing here to make this XP disable the fast logon and "behaves
as" Win2000 Prof ?
