Applications that require DirectX/Direct3D and TS

I try to run a gameserver (Ghost Recon) on a remote Server using
Terminal Services but it allows shuts down because of the missing
Direct 3D Support of the TS Display Driver - the box itself has a
Intel 845 Chipset which supports Direct3d so my basic question is:
Anyone know of a way to trick the application to use the "real"
Graphics Driver instead the one offered by TS? I don't need to see
output or configure the server, configuration can be done in a *.ini
file, too so it doesn't matter if i can see the window or not (by the
way because this is started as a dedicated server only it doesn't need
Direct3D / DirectX after all because it's just a little window with
some Config Options but it fails to start if Direct3D isn't
available). Any help would be great.

Does Ghost Recon use the Quake 3 engine? If it does, then
all you need to do is start the game server in dedicated =
2 mode, and you won't have to deal with thee directX
problems.

The main thing is that the video device in a terminal
services session is virtualized, and therefore, doesn't
have the same specs or characteristics of your onboard
video card. For that matter, you could have the biggest
and baddest video card ever, but you terminal services
video performance wouldn't benefit any.

Sorry I don't know anything about gaming but the gamers I do this for
told me how to start the in game server and that this is the only way
to start it. Now I decided to log on a user locally an install
Dameware to get access to his desktop - everything is fine now with
the Ghost recon server but I can't log on via Terminal Services
anymore from one of my local Windows 2003 Servers, without logging off
the user logged i locally which would stop the Ghost Recon server.
Another user on the server using Windows 2000 could log on without
problems or logging the local user off - a wired problem...thanks so
far for your answer anyway.

Check out this link. you don't need to start the server
