We have 14 Win2k SP3 TS units supporting a remote user
base running primarily custom apps. Recently we received
a complaint that on occasion, when switching apps at the
client via the taskbar, the App would 'dissappear' without
any normal terminate dialog. The user would have to re-
launch.
On investigating, it turns out this has been occurring for
a long time, across all the TS units. The exceptions as
reported by Dr Watson are "c0000006 (in page io error)"
or "c0000005 (access violation)".
We have been getting the hits since SP2, all are currently
SP3 and we pushed 2 of them last week to SP4 fully patched
and are going to do the same with the rest.
We have not yet seen any real pattern from the 485 hits
we've recorded during the last 2 yrs, but would like to
resolve this and re-establish a stronger user confidence
level.
~ 10% of the hits come from MS productivity apps,
particularly Excel.
1/2 of the hits identify VB runtime symbols.
Any Ideas? Thanks in advance!!
