We have a policy that noone should have administrator privileges on certain
computers. However, I've discovered that several applications require
administrator privileges to run correctly. Is there a way around this
without giving users administrator privileges?

Hi Darrick

I'll give you two answers.

1) install regmon and filemon (both from sysinternals) and determine which
registry key and file/directory the application needs to access. Depending
on what you find you MAY want to grant end user access to such areas. the
drawback is that (eventual) viruses and trojans will also be ablke to write
to such locations.

2) Check out NeoExec [ www.neovalens.com ]

cheers
