Application will not open Maximized

I am trying to set an document scanning application (Fujitsu Scandall
Pro v1.7) to open maximized everytime it is run. This was easy enough
in v1.6 as it would remember the last windows position, however v1.7
will not open maximized.

I have tried the shortcut trick( Shortcut Properties > Shortcut >
Run : Maximized).

I have also tried start /max application.exe from the command line.
Both of these do not work.

Downloading a 3rd party tool is not an option.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Blake

The way Windows knows to open an application maximized is to make a
shortcut to the executable and set it to open maximized. I have yet to
see this fail in my own experience. If it fails for you, I suggest
contacting the program's technical support.

Thanks for the respoonse Leonard. I have contacted their technical
support. Hopefully they will get back to me in a timely manner. The
shortcut > maximized solution does not work on this application. I
think it maybe because I updated to the current version instead of
doing a fresh install, but they do not provide the full version on the
web (only the update).

Unless you really need the new update, you could always go back to v1.6.

Thanks Tom,
We have an issue w/ v1.6 where we receive intermittent,
unreproduceable Application Hang errors. The vendor did not know what
could be causing the error but recommends we upgrade to the latest
version of the software to see if that fixes it before they delve into
it further.

Sorry that won't work. . .
I see on their web site
http://www.fujitsu.com/us/services/...ers/support/downloads_software-utilities.html
that there's an update pack 2. Have you installed it? Also, are you using MS
SharePoint along with this? I see an update pack for it, too.

I am using Update 2. We are not using it with Sharepoint. I have dug
deeper into the Registry and there is a binary WinPos key that just
not updated when closed from a maximized state.

When you "expand" the application "manually" does it work?

Thanks SM,

Yes, but the problem is that the workstations the application is
running on has a dashboard at the top of the screen. There is some
interaction between the application and the dashboard causing the
application to open little higher on the screen each time it is
launched until it is off the screen entirely. Our end users are not
savy enough to be able to move a window once its top bar is off
screen.

Also I have found that it is not the WinPos registry key that holds
the information to launch the program maximized. The winpos key works
the same in v1.6 and v1.7. It contains the last non-maximized window
position. I have not been able to find the key or setting in the v1.6
registry or ini files that tell it to open maximized.

Thanks again,
Blake

I know you have stated that third party utilities are not an option
but have you considered trying Autosizer?

I don't know that our organization would allow a 3rd party tool. I
will check it out though.

I wish I could find the registry key or ini file that tells v1.6 to
open maximized.

Thanks
