application to log time spent on internet

is there application which logs total time spent on internet on any
given day

i did search, but the google pointed to internet time synchronization
only

Packet sniffers and network monitors can be found all over the net, some free, some
not, some may require a router or server and others don't. Be aware that if your
running the software on the machine you want to monitor, whoever you're trying to
monitor may/could easily find it.
