I need an application to create banners. I checked pricelessware.org,
pricelesswarehome.org and googled, but came up empty. Any suggestions?

Hi Norm,

There are a few possibilities. It would be helpful to know whether you
want to make printed banners or banners for a web site. . .

If you're talking about the kind of banner that you hang in an office
for celebrations rather than a *web page banner* (two entirely
different things), you can use "Poster" by a guy named Bob Bedoll.
It's gone shareware, but there is a link to one of the last freeware
versions here:

http://users.northnet.com.au/~mitchymoo/freeware.html

Normally, I would be hesitant to provide such a link but the readme
included with the program says the following:

"This program is 'Freely Distributed'. The author has given permission
for the file to be distributed without restriction..."

Hi Susan,

Sorry for not being specific. I need to make printed banners on regular
paper with my inkjet.

paper with my inkjet.

Some possibilities:

Program: BigText
Author: (William Luitje)
http://www.sover.net/~wysiwygx/Text.html
BigText BIGTEXT 2.1 converts text to banners that can be displayed to
the screen or printed out; allows you to change font, colors, fill
character, and direction of text.

Program: Poster
Author: (Bob Bedoll)
W: LFW
Ware: v 1.3
http://riverbbs.net/files/output/75.Html

Zoner Draw 3 (PW04)
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2004/PL2004GRAPHICS.php#0894-PW

<help file quote>
You can also turn on Billboard Printing, which we will explain in more
detail here. Zoner Draw can create documents up to 2.5 x 2.5 meters in
size. However, it's hard to imagine a printer capable of printing such
large pages. Therefore, the program lets you print extremely large
formats on multiple pages, which you then glue back together. If you
turn on billboard printing, Zoner Draw marks each such sheet and
includes, in the margins, information about which sheet should be glued
where. This lets you print, for example, large signs for shop-window
displays with minimal effort.
</q>

Post again if none of these will do the job.
