Recently used App. Sharing in Windows Messenger. The
other user initiated and chose 'Desktop' from the list.
After that, I helped him install some software and
register it, trading control of his desktop by double-
clicking.

If his 'Desktop' is chosen to share, can I open programs
on his computer (that I don't have) and use them to help
him, or am I just confined to the actual desktop I was
able to type in registration information, select buttons,
etc. in the window that opened on his computer.

When using Remote Assistance, can we trade control back
and forth also??

Greetings J,

When you share the 'Desktop' in Application Sharing, you share everything that the user sees
(every application) and you can start new ones.

Remote Assistance works somewhat similar (uses a different protocol however), but you can't
restrict Remote Assistance to just one application.
