I own a hp pavillion ZX5000 laptop running Windows XP and Office 2003. My
computer crashed on 4/10/2007 advising me that it could not find the
config.sys file and prompted me for a Recovery Disk. It would not recover
with the Application Recovery Disks from HP or the original OEM Windows XP
disk. How do I make a Recovery Disk? Is this the same as the old "Sys.Dsk"?
How do I make on on a CD, since this is the only drive I have other than a
USB port or my C drive.

If niether the HP recovery disks or winxp cd enabled you to recover it maybe
that you have a hardware problem.
When you poped the winxp cd in, and booted, did it detect your win
installation or did it come up with some error msg?
