I am getting the following Application log errors, which keep recurring
The Group Policy client-side extension Security was
passed flags (17) and returned a failure status code o
(3).
Security policy cannot be propagated. Cannot access th
template. Error code = 3
\\[my domain]\sysvol\[my domain]\Policies{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machine\Microsof
\Windows NT\SecEdit\GptTmpl.inf.
Windows cannot access the registry information at
\\[my domain]\sysvol\[my domain]\Policies{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machineregistry.pol with (53).
I have substituted "[my domain]" in place of my actual domain listed
Also, I can not access Group Policy--I get the following error message
"Group Policy Error
Failed to find a domain controller. There may be a policy that prevents you from selecting a domain controller
Details: The network name cannot be found.
I tried to find where access was not being allowed and could not find this, for an administrator's account. Also, I had trouble applying a security template--I received an error message that it was "corrupted.
This is for my practice network at home--I am taking my MCSA tests. And now it seems like a good luck omen if I can solve a problem before I take a test, passed first two
Please e-mail me if you think you have a solution--it may, at first, be blocked from my box, but I will search for it in "Suspect Mail" and place it in my "in box" if you respond
Thanks again, and here's hoping any good Karma will be returned
