Hi Carey,

I have same problem and tried your recommendation with IE
setting, it doesn't work as I don't have any Norton's
software installed.

I installed ZoneLab Security's zonealarm. I can see from
the log that whenever I launch an application it will try
to connect to Internet with specific IP to my corporate
network's public IP with certain port.

The process that request this is Generic Host Process for
Win32 Services 5.1.2600.0 svchost.exe

Since I use this computer at home, it really slows down
and causes delays in certain applications launch like
windows explorer (anything to do with viewing folders,
IE, Winzip, system mechanic, etc. just to name a few. I
have to wait for current loading application to
completely launched then only I can do other tasks.

FYI, I have McAfee Antivirus software and I have no
performance issues at all when I use it at work.

Any idea?
Thanks.

Wallace

Have you looked into setting up a roaming profile?
