I hope someone can help please......

I am using Windows 2000 with Office 97 Pro

On occasions when a particular Excel workbook closes by using a macro, Excel
crashes out and states:

EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need
to restart the program.

If the program is closed normally it's not a problem, I wont bore you with
the details of the workbook other than you get to an option at the end of a
macro to open a fresh workbook or to close.

Although the Dr Watson log is way beyond my understanding it does say right
at the beginning:

Application exception occurred:
App: excel.exe (pid=468)
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

And way down the log it states:

FAULT ->30158f08 8bb084000000 mov esi,[eax+0x84]
ds:00000084=????????

This may be totally irrelevant....

Sorry I can't offer any help, but I'm encountering a similar error with Excel
97 running on an XP Pro system. I tried killing the excel.xlb file - but
couldn't find it. I've solved similar "Excel 97 is crashing repeatedly"
errors before by deleting that file. Excel just recreates it automatically,
and everything is fine.

Except in this last case.. Getting the following error msg:

The application, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\EXCEL.EXE,
generated an application error The error occurred on 11/18/2004 @
14:25:29.640 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 3018D268
(EXCEL!Ordinal42)

I'm not finding much in the way of help on this one.

Thanks all - Brian
