Bob,

Can't help with that one, but, I recently could not 'see' System Restore and
also 'lost' msconfig at the same time, and could not find reference to this
problem wherever I looked.

I felt sure that S/Restore was working (system Properties showed it was
monitoring C:, and when I reinstalled S/R I gained HDD space, so it was
deleting restore points) but the S/R window would not show, just the
hourglass for a couple of secs no matter how I tried to approach it.

Bert Kinney & Robear Dyer at Aumha Forums gave me an awful lot of time and
help but we were unable to fix the problem.

Not a lot of help maybe, other than - you're not the only one.

And I'll watch your threads with interest

System Restore does not work , I have the same problem as you.
I have the Norton Products installed tried to follow Bert Kinney about
disabling the Norton software , no good
I went to services.msc and found System Restore was running. Tried to stop
system restore that worked then started it again
that was ok , tried to do the restore nothing.

I have no Norton software so we don't have that in common, and I'm really
not qualified to offer in depth help on this (wish I was)

Someone will come along and help, I'm sure. Meanwhile - Good Luck with it

Bob,

I did an advanced Google search and found this:

Maybe something there will help you. Always remember, "Google is your
