I've been having problems over the past 2 weeks with constant "Internet
Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to close" issues. It has spread
to other programs experiencing problems as well. To try and fix this problem
I have completely wiped my HD and reformated. I have conducted a fresh
installation of WinXp and everytime I have done this I get Application
Errors. The last 3 I got from an install conducted last night is as follows:

rundll32.exe-Application Error
The instruction at "0x77f52004" referenced memory at "0x400a5d18"
The memory could not be "written"

Click okay to terminate the program

Second one:

fixmapi.exe-Application Error

The instruction at "0x7c9118c5" referenced memory " 0x36683699".
The memory could not be "read".

Click to terminate the program.

As I recall these errors have poped up each time I've atempted a clean
reinstall to get my system ship shape. These errors seem to initiate the
problems I'm having loading and running any games and continued crashes of IE
and other programs.

I greatly appreciate any help and assistance.

JJ, try if you can to swap out your Ram. If you have two ram modules
just use one, test and then the other.

Interesting suggestion. I have a matched pair of Corsair Xtreme 512 pc3200
sticks. I've had these for 4 months with no problems.

I just completed a reformat and installation of a older version of WinXp
that I had. As of yet I have had no problems except a few hick-ups but have
installed all the windows updates except SP2. I'm thinking I'll hold off on
that one till I try loading on of my games and seeing if it crashes or not.

Also, does anyone know of a free program or tool from Microsoft for checking
the registry and fixing any problems???

Thanks for help!!

Hi Amer,
This can be a hardware issue, like the RAM sticks gone bad (one of them or
Dust mounted over the time ), so you will need to test your RAM and swap
them around.
Also, did you install all the Programs/software at once or one at a time, I
recommend to test after each program you install wait a day to see how the
system will behave after installing this program.
Read here lots of Qs & As and the link for Memtest:
