What causes application errors the display the "The
instruction at 0x77f8c1bb referenced memory at 54004e.
The memory could not be written"
We have had an ongoing problem with this on Explorer.exe
Application error when desktop is being displayed at
bootup. It seems to have stayed with 4 different pc's for
the past 3 months. It happens only 1 or 2 times a week.
Now we are getting it the error with "Magic Runntime:
MGrntw.exe - application error" when we open our magic
runtime applicaltion. We have 300 pc that run this
application and starting today 3 of them get this error
everytime time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the
applicaion on the pc with no help.

Thanks, Ken

No sp or new software installed.
Formatted hd and reloaded w2k along with magic software.
Magic application ran ok when I tried it 1st time.
Got out of the Magic application and left pc sit idle for
an hour and tried Magic application again and it failed.
Only thing different is McAfee client was download and it
loaded McAfee Virus Scan.
I will uninstall McAfee Client and Virus Scan and try it
and let you know.

Thanks, Ken

I submitted the the original message shown below.
I found that these 3 devices are the only w2k pc's that
have unigue printer attached to them. One had a hp deskjet
960c, another had a hp4200 and the other one had a hp8150.
Unloading thes printer drivers fixed the problem.
Installing the latest divers for these printers didn't
help. I had to load hp5 divers 1st and then added the
needed printer drivers for each device to fix the problem.

Thanks, Ken
