Application error message--what does it mean?

Can anyone tell me (in simple terms) why I am getting the following message
and what to do to make it go away?

The instruction at "0x01ccd7db" referenced memory at "0x01ccd7db". The
memory could not be "read"

The message isn't very helpful to anyone except programmers. What
program are you using? Maybe you should check for updates to that

Just to clarify - that's not your fault. What I meant is that
unfortunately, if that's all it says, the error message isn't really
going to help you in this case.

Thank you for your reply. It was IE6...and it seems to have resolved itself
now anyway.
