Application closing

I am having a problem with applications closing on their own a few seconds after I open them. Specifically, I loaded Norton Anti-virus. Now when I start it, the opening menu screen closes on its own a few seconds later. Pop-up blocker is turned off. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thank you for your suggestion. However, where will I find the file REMOVE.REG REGEDIT 4 in order to copy and paste the lines?
