is there an other way to insert an applause to an animation
other than:
slide show/custom animation / effects / entry animation and
sound/applause?

I'm asking because i took the ppt certification test and
there was no drop-down meny at the end of the above
pathway.. very strange!

Thanks a lot

S,

There are generally two ways to put sound on a powerpoint slide.

Insert menu
Sounds from file....

Or Slideshow menu
Slide transition
Sound.....

Yes, that's the most straightforward way to attach the applause sound to
an animation effect.

The animation effect must have been added to the object before that
sound option [where it says "no sound" in the Entry Animation and Sound
tab] will become available, though.

You can also insert the sound on the slide itself and have it play at
the same time as the animation using Insert/Movies and Sounds/Sound from
File -- especially if you're using PPT 2002, as its timings are better
than those in previous versions. But from the dialog you describe below,
I'm guessing you were using PPT 2000.
