Appending Imported Text Files

you could try using Data | Get External Data | Import Text File.

I've not really used this so I can't offer much advice. Once you've
imported a text file into a sheet, Excel seems to remember this and you can
choose to refresh it. You might, therefore, need to create a sheet for each
text file and import each to its own sheet and then merge them. Beats 50
separate workbooks though.

I'm sure if you search the NGs you'll get more ideas.

Hi;

I have several(sometimes more than one) text files I import into Excel, then
use a couple of macros to format the info. Everything works fine, except I
would like to automate the importing and append the files after each other.

When I tried to do it, it creates several workbooks, then
I have to use another macro and copy and paste. This gets to be a pain, when
I have over 50 files. Is there a way to do this, please advise.
