Apparent port block

Good friend of mine is attempting to play a game called
Asheron's Call 2. However, there seems to be a port that
the game server needs that is blocked. The game will
connect to several of the initial processes (authorization
server, alert server, etc). But can not get into the game
itself (my apologies, I do not know what exact process is
failing).

My question is...aside from ICF in Windows XP, what else
could be preventing communication on those ports?

Hi Markus,

The internet provider or network admin might have them
behind a proxy, especially if they are connecting from a
school or business network, otherwise they could have
a software firewall or more likely a router or modem
which blocks ports by default, and needs to be configured.

ICF should be compatible with AC2 and not require any
intervention by the user to play online, however if you ask
in the Asherons Call NG using AC2 in your title, they will
be able to give you the most accurate information possible.
