I want to upgrade from NT 4.0 to 2000 Pro. Will all my
applications remain intact and will they work?
Thanks.

In theory yes, but upgrades usually fail for any number of reasons. Best to
clean install.

Just want to add to the post and say that a clean install
is the better route to take than an 'in place' upgrade;
however, you should check with the application vendor to
insure the application will work under Windows 2000. I've
experienced situations where the app worked fine in Win
NT, but not in Win2k.

One application that comes to mind is Extra 6.3 terminal
emulator from Attachmate. It 'kind of' works in Win2k,
but with some funkyness. However, it works perfect under
Win NT.

Thanks for the additional tip.
