apon STANDBY my cooler-fan still running

Hi
Earlier when I put my PC on standby I enjoyed the silence
now something has changed
on STANDBY the fan(s) is still running :-(
how do I get the silence back ?

I use some program/windows arrengements (4 programs on the screen/monitor and 2 in
the background) which take a lot of times to start and arrenge; so I like to use the
standby-option

Hello Erik,

These are the Standby codes and what they do:

Standby codes

S0 = Normal up and running
S1 = Drives and Display turned off - power to CPU, RAM, fans
S2 = Drives, Display, CPU turned off - power to RAM, fans
S3 = Power to RAM only (a.k.a. "trickle")
S4 = Hibernate
S5 = Computer turned off

Enter the BIOS of your computer and see if you have the option to
change the default to S3
