I have a server process which is affected by the newly enabled firewall in XP
SP2, as it should be. The first time the process starts up the user is
presented with a dialog box to configure it into the firewall. Regardless of
whether the user configures it or not, the process is entered into the
firewall configuration. If the user chooses not to configure, the process is
granted no inbound connection access, but can still make outgoing
connections. If the user chooses to configure the process, they can choose
whatever they want. Regardless of the choice, the user is never presented
with the dialog again until the process is deleted from the firewall
configuration.
Can any one suggest me the new API set available in SDK that appears to
allow your application to add itself to the firewall rules without user
intervention in Win XP with SP2.
