After reading that post about aperture size and reading the article from tomshardware I messed with that setting, BIG MISTAKE. Lucky
I only did it on the AIW7500. I had it set at 64, as this matched the memory on the board. I have always used that configuration
since the 32+ memory boards came out. I switched it to 128 and ran the call of duty Demo again. Hey! things were noticeably better.
SO what the hell bumped it to 256. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!! Now even UT 2003 wont play in high texture ( plays but chopped up) Call
of duty is no longer worth playing. WTF! Do not exceed 128?
Or is this a ko- inky -dink? I have tried everything. Today I'm going to check between GL DX(and their settings) and see if its over
both platforms. I see now why Toms Bench crashed at 256 settings.

Damn it, can't believe I fixed something that wasn't broken!!!!!!!!! that's something I never do, well ALMOST never.

Beware that setting!!!!

it appears that a "Power off" (back of PSU) solved it, weird.

Generally, I've found there's no need to use more than a 128-meg aperture
with most cards. IIRC the Matrox Par-feel-my-nuts is an exception: it likes
256.

Yeah i hate when i touch stuff....when i'm bored...and its always late at night when there not enough time to think it out. or do a
couple of troubleshooting steps...then fustration of my own dabbling etc etc etc. the new 3.7 are nice everything running smoother
on both my AIW's.

There you go again, looking for a problem to create in order to spend time
solving it. I can relate. ;-)
