just curious... why should no one in their right mind have anything to do
with "AO-HELL"? did that company or service ever do anything wrong to you?
or is this jusy something you heard someone say on some website and you
jumped on the bandwagon because you think its cool?

Let me ask, do YOU use AO-HELL? How is that e-mail "client" working for
you? That thick layer over windows that forces you into AO-HELL world which
causes nothing but grief with your system, applications, antivirus? If you
had to work with like I had to work with it a few years ago, you would be
singing the same tune. It is nothing but trouble.

Run, don't walk from AO-HELL.

I see. so you had a bad experience with your installation of the aol
software.
actually no, I don't "use" aol. although I do have an aol screenname and
email address that I've had since v1.0. incidentally its the same screenname
I used with Quantumlink on my commodore64, before Qlink later became AOL.

truth is, for millions of home users that aren't as technically advanced as
yourself, the aol software simplifies what they need to use their computer
for... web browsing, email, chat rooms... you have to remember that "we" are
the minority. most people out there hardly know how to use the mouse. so
telling people to "run from ao-hell" is ignorant and childish

For those home users who aren't so technically advanced, they don't know any
better. They don't know that their computer has been taken hostage. They
think that being bombarded with hundreds of unwanted ads and software that
slows their computer to a crawl is normal. I don't think so. I have had
many people who are not tecno-savvy, ask me to remove AO-HELL because they
are frustrated. Yes, there are those users who need hand holding and maybe
they should stay with AO-HELL, but my comments were ment for people who
frequent these newsgroups, who in the most part are a slice-above those
general users. Ingorant, I don't think so, I shutter every time I see
someone fight with it. Childish, yea, a bit, but for the most part, AO-HELL
shouldn't be on most computers. It gives me chills.
