Greetings Kaja,
Yes you can -- assuming you're using Windows XP Professional. Open up the System Policy
Editor (click Start, then Run, enter "gpedit.msc" and click OK), click the + next to Windows
Settings, then Security Settings, then click Software Restriction Policies. If you haven't
previously setup any restrictions, click the Action menu, then "Create New Policies". Then,
double-click "Additional Rules", then click the Action menu, and "New Path Rule". For Path,
type:
%programfiles%\Yahoo!
and under Security level, be sure "Disallowed" is selected, and then click OK.
Then close the System Policy Editor and Reboot.
After this, when someone tries to start Yahoo Messenger, it will say this:
Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction
policy. For more information, open Event Viewer or contact your system administrator.
You can then do the above for the
%programfiles%\AIM95
folder (which is AIM).
