Hello
I ran into this problem around 2 weeks ago, AIM Will load through the first two steps (Connecting and Verifying Username and Password), but will get hung up on the third step, Starting Services. It will freeze for about 30 seconds and then flash what would be a warning screen and shut the whole program down before you get enough time to read it. It used to work fine, but around 2 weeks ago, it all of a sudden started doing this with no warning whatsoever. I initially thought it was a virus on my own computer, and ended up reformatting my computer (not in order to solve my AIM problems, but for fear of a virus), and when the same results happened, and some other programs weren't running well, I reformatted again. Needless to say, it didn't solve any problem and I still have the same issues. I still thought it was a problem with my computer, but I found out today that my sister was having the exact same problem with the exact same version of software on another computer within my network. My computer is a Windows XP Pro, the other is the same version. We're both running the latest AIM, and I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling/redownloading AIM several times, yet I still have the same problem. The program will startup correctly once after a reinstall
My network is running on a Linksys BEFSR81 Cable/DSL Router with 8 port switch. The Router has the latest Firmware. My network supports 4 computers - Windows Server 2003, and 3 Windows XP Pro computers.
